The first day back at Dillon High brings new beginnings and a lot of changes. Tami finds it tough being a mother of a newborn child and a teenager. Matt Saracen watches his perfect life slip away. His best friend Landry embraces his new lifestyle despite a recent event that changed everything. But the new school year isn’t bad at all for Brian “Smash” Williams, who’s being lauded by coaches, scouts, and fans.

Preparing for their first game of the season, the Dillon Panthers face unexpected difficulties as Matt and Smash struggle to put their coach’s tactics into play. 4. Backfire

Tim and Jason go to Mexico as Street hopes to explore experimental surgery. Riggins, who is worried about Street, turns to Lyla Garrity, who’s busy helping a newcomer acclimate to Dillon. Meanwhile, Coach Taylor decides on a big career move that will change his life. A development in a police search deeply affects the lives of Tyra and Landry.

5. Let’s Get It On

As Coach Taylor takes over the team, he soon finds out that nothing is the same. After a confrontation between Matt and Smash during the practice, Coach Taylor has to make some difficult decisions regarding the team selection. Riggins tries to make Lyla convince Jason to not go through the tentative treatment.

Tami’s sister Shelley shows up to help out with the baby. Shelly’s lifestyle is not exactly compatible with that of the folk of Dillon. Riggins must prove his worth to the team or he is permanently out.

Julie turns her jealousy into a twisted relationship.

After a conversation with Lyla, Landry considers turning himself in to the authorities for killing Tyra’s assailant.

Tim must find a way to return the money he stole from his drug dealing ex-roommate. Buddy Garrity hires Jason as his newest salesman at the car dealership. Landry seems to have a budding relationship with a younger classmate to Tyra’s dismay.

Matt Saracen reaches his lowest point. Meanwhile, Tami Taylor’s relationship continues to blossom with Tyra, Julie becomes envious. Landry has an admirer. Elsewhere, Smash seeks advice from Coach Taylor.
